the latin-flavored >el tapatio< and super-deep cut >speak to me< make up the b-side. although the tracks represent different aspects of the dalessandro sound, the commonality they share is a thoughtful approach to dance music that much of the formulaic output these days lacks.

the model is no stranger to gigolo, and we (the royal we) are no strangers to the model. as a supporter of gigolo records, you, our fated reader, should be familiar with our protagonist previous gigolo adventure. but in the words of the late george harrison, >all things must pass< and with this in mind we would like to reintroduce...
the model doesnt just have his own sound, he has in fact attempted to engineer his own genre: dark-techno-baroque. the sound has been crafted through a penchant for aristocratic mannerisms and a passion for high fashion and low fetish. it also happens to pretty succinctly sum up part of his unique personality. set against a backdrop of refined charm, there s an underbelly of something dark and brutal, which is possibly the best way to describe the a-side >in the night<. in many ways this could be seen as a return to form for gigolo, immediately poppy but structured as a classic song with haunting vocals underpinned with a driving techno rhythm. to further consolidate the techno aesthetic look no further then >flex on the b-side and you have a pounding track that could have been played by daft punk in 96 and will probably find a home with a diverse selection of djs today.

big with richie hawtin, tiefschwarz, loco dice, dubfire, jeff k ... new sub-division lessizmore limited is the occasion for us to produce new artists and to release their work in a beautiful colored 10 inch, 500 copy limited pressing for audiophiles. the first release is focused on two new hopes of 2009: jin choi and dop. jin choi has released many impressive eps on ware, archipel and roman photo. his tracks are subtle, full of details, he looks for instruments and singings you would never expect in a usual dance tune. carnivores is a long and melancholic trip which cannot let you unmoved. french trio dop does a complete rework of the track, adding their own voices, some punchy percussions and a pinch of sex appeal. they keep the original vocals and instruments but use it in such a different way that makes it look funnier.

peter kruder is one of those emblematic names that lead a whole decade and inspire myriads of djs, producers and clubbers all over the world. while he enjoys unprecedented success with kruder & dorfmeister and crossed into the platinum range (selling 1 million copies of the k&d sessions album), he never lost track of the underground. probably his stellar career would never have happened exactly this way if there wasn’t the other kruder: the adventurous dj, the deep producer, the challenging a&r at g-stone, the producer behind dj hell’s highly acclaimed “teufelswerk” album. in 15 years peter kruder has done only 3 singles under his own name though. when you get your ears around “chordal” and “law of return” it becomes totally clear why this rare outing happens on macro. kruder meets his macro debut full on modernism - showcasing his deep, dark, dancefloor grounded side. with a crisp harmonic sequence reminiscent of tchaikovsky’s nutcracker suite, “chordal” hijacks brains on the dancefloor with its vacuum depth and sizzling details. “law of return” on the other side is a kruder signature take on deepness - solemn chords wrapped around a hypnotic groove give you tears of joy. a masterpiece!

cortney tidwell has confirmed details of the first single to be taken from her forthcoming album boys which is – according to tidwell – >about two kids in love, fighting, and they eventually kill themselves. its a modern day romeo and juliet.< undeniably one of the most electronic songs shes written, it calls upon diverse influences like new order and depeche mode and packs a typically impressive melodic punch. the track will be available as a special single edit, and is accompanied by exclusive mixes and an a cappella version. after the success of ewan pearsons remix of the title track to her debut album dont let stars keep us tangled up (a pitchfork track of the year 2007) duties are this time handled by simon baker and daphni. bakers remixes for radioslave and simian mobile disco have confirmed his status as one of the most exciting djsand producers around, and he gives the track a technicolor tech-house workover perfect for summer twilight. daphni – aka dan snaith, aka caribou – has meanwhile turned in a fourteen minute monster, a trippy techno bastard that sneaks up gently, growing relentlessly until it leaves listeners dizzy and euphoric.
